New Paid Vacation Policy
You asked and we listened. All Company drivers are now eligible to receive paid vacation after completing 1 year with Total! We know this is a big change so we wanted to cover it all here. If you still have questions after reading this policy, please contact your Fleet manager.
Solo drivers:
Vacation Pay Package Rules:
1st year: 1 week of vacation will be earned AFTER a driver reaches 75,000 miles AND their 1 year anniversary date.
2nd-4th years: A maximum of two weeks of vacation is earned after a driver has reached 100,000 miles that year. 50,000 miles earns 1 week of vacation. A driver must hit 100,000 miles to earn both weeks.
5 years and over: A maximum of 3 weeks of vacation will be earned after a driver reaches 105,000 miles for the year. 35,000 earns 1 week of vacation. A driver must hit 105,000 miles per year to earn all three weeks
Team drivers:
1st year: 1 week of vacation will be earned AFTER a driver has reached 100,000 miles AND their 1-year anniversary date.
2nd-4th years: A maximum of 2 weeks of vacation after a driver has reached 150,000 miles that year. 75,000 miles earns 1 week of vacation.
A driver must hit 150,000 miles per year to earn both weeks.
5 years and over: A maximum of 3 weeks of vacation will be earned after a driver reaches 180,000 for the year. 60,000 miles earns 1 week of vacation. A driver must hit 180,000 thousand miles per year to earn all three weeks.
Local drivers:
1st year: 1 week of vacation will be earned AFTER their 1 year anniversary date.
2-4 years: A Maximum of 2 weeks of vacation will be earned on the driver’s anniversary date.
5+ years: A maximum of 3 weeks’ vacation will be earned on the driver’s anniversary date.
Vacation Package Payout Details.
– Drivers will begin earning miles towards their vacation pay package beginning May 1st, 2018.
– Earned vacation can only be used or paid out in 5-day blocks. Vacation time cannot be split up into individual days.
– Drivers can “sell” their vacation back to the company for $750.00 per week of vacation.
– Driver Vacation Package replaces the current Driver Retention Bonus. Any driver whose anniversary date falls within 90 days of the vacation package roll out date (May 1, 2018) will receive their Driver Retention bonus.
– Blackout Period – Vacation cannot be used unless approved by your Fleet Manager from the second week in November through Christmas Eve, i.e. “Peak Season”.
– Vacation must be used within 1 year of achieving the mileage required to earn Vacation pay. If a driver fails to use their earned vacation time within a year’s time frame of achieving the mileage requirement, the vacation amount will automatically be paid out.
– If a driver quits or is terminated before using his or her earned vacation time, the amount of earned vacation time will be paid on the driver’s final paycheck.
– Contractors and Part-time Drivers are not included in this program.
