The Washer/Laborer is responsible for washing and detailing tractors, trailers, and company equipment. Assisting with light preventative maintenance and helping technicians with clean up or removal tasks. This candidate must maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure the department is operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner. They must have a valid driver’s license in order to drive company vehicles for any pickup or drop offs. Possess the ability to lift up to seventy- five pounds and communicate well verbally. Total Transportation of MS, LLC has a job opening available for a Weekend Fleet Manager at our Jackson, MS Terminal.

The primary duty of the fleet manager will be to manage a fleet of designated drivers and tractors. The fleet manager will maintain relationships with dispatch, customer service, load planning, and driver payroll personnel to ensure company goals are met. In addition, the candidate will make capacity availability by maintaining seated truck count, accurate driver PTA’s, and keep driver turnover down; Ensure on time service is met and address possible service issues in a timely manner while coordinating with Customer Service and Load Planning departments. Repower loads as needed. Approve driver’s home time requests and serve as liaison between the driver and Load Planning to ensure freight is available for the drivers to get home on time. Provide accurate and detailed information regarding directions, load information, pick-up/delivery times and other special load related information.

Training will be available for a successful candidate. A college degree is preferred but work experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree. Basic computer skills are required, along with the ability to learn our daily transportation software applications. Must be motivated, possess a positive attitude and work as a team member in the department. Excellent people skills are a must. The shift for this position is Friday – Monday (6am – 6pm)

The Shop Supervisor is responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. They assign jobs to technicians and follow up on progress and provide assistance where necessary. Responsible for floor level operations of the shop, as well as assisting the manager with repair coordination, OSHA compliance and data entry and warranty work as needed. This candidate will help with training of shop employees and help shop manager with employee scheduling. Responsible for driver orientation. They will be required to perform daily fleet inspections and manage trade equipment and new equipment in service.   The qualified candidate should have four years or more of shop or truck experience. Be able to work as part of a team. Understand all the Freightliner self-paced modules. They must understand all maintenance sections of the FMCSR. Possess problem solving skills and able to work with hand tools.

  • Manage key relationships with customers (to include the occasional customer call or email at night and on weekends)
  • Responsible for providing pricing to key customers
  • Manage customer relationships in a professional manner.
  • Assist customers by offering logistics solutions that best fit their supply chain needs.
  • Provide excellent customer service by tracking on time pickups and confirming on-time deliveries are made
  • Document all special service requirements of customers and warehouses
  • Maintain and further develop customer and warehouse relationships through daily communication
  • Assist Operations Manager in developing a team of logistics agents
  • Provide the Logistics Agents with all information needed to properly execute logistic plans as determined by the customer to ensure proper customer service is provided.
  • Work 4-6 Saturdays per year.

What We’re Looking For:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience

  • 2 – 4 years of accounting and/or finance experience required

Skills/Certifications

  • Understanding of general accounting concepts and standards required.
  • Excellent computer skills required; Microsoft Office suit with an emphasis on Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to research, analyze, and report data with guidance from accounting management.
  • Ability to work well independently, as well as, in a team environment under tight deadlines and high-volume pressure.
  • Ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Knowledge of and ability to use processes, tools and techniques for exploring and evaluating alternative financial scenarios and results.
